It has been great working with Sara online. Through the program JamKazam I am able to hear her voice and piano crystal clear, with no annoying feedback or interruptions. I am grateful I am able to take singing lessons from my home--no fear of covid or need to deal with a commute--as Sara is able to support my learning and growth despite our physical distance. I appreciate that I know if any tech issues arise this does not eat into my lesson, and I am able to fully be present with my voice and with Sara thanks to her thoughtful virtual teaching!

I’ve really enjoyed taking virtual voice lessons with Sara! It’s convenient to be able to sing from the comfort of my own apartment, and Sara has been very flexible with scheduling. I appreciate that she allows me to choose music that I enjoy, regardless of genre or language (so far, we have worked on a variety of songs in Mandarin, Korean, and English).
When I first started taking lessons, I often felt out of breath or tired after I sang. Sara’s warmups and techniques made me feel much more comfortable after just a couple lessons. She takes the time to explain the physical reasons behind her methods, so I feel that I have a better understanding of how sound is produced in the body and what’s happening when something goes wrong. Overall, she’s a very attentive and encouraging teacher who has helped me improve my confidence as a singer.

Sara was my piano teacher for five years, and during that time I learned to play the piano and read music, which was incredible, since I had studied before with another teacher and had not succeeded. Sara was unfailingly kind, patient and methodical, even when I would get frustrated with my progress. She is also extremely knowledgeable (not to mention very talented in her own right) so that she was able to answer my questions that led to discussions that broadened my own understanding and appreciation of music in ways that I never anticipated.
In short, I know that I have been very fortunate to study with Sara, and I believe anyone interested in studying piano would certainly benefit from having her as a teacher.
